Where do the Paris Running Tours go?

Running in Paris offers an incredible diversity of routes and a variety of incredible landscapes and sites. Paris Running Tour guides you to make the most of this richness and discover the many facets that the city has to give. Here are some pictures of the tour we did with Nicole and Robert from Wisconsin, wide prestigious streets, splendid bridges, historical narrow streets… and even a short break to see the inverted pyramid of the Louvre. Thank you very much Nicole and Robert! And why not combine this competition with a sightrunning tour of the city during your stay in Paris by running with authentic Parisian runner guides (warming up some day before the competition or recovering some day after)? Enjoy the best running routes in Paris with an original private tour, tailor-made for you:
Some nice places to run in Paris

Hayley on Paris historical axis, after the Louvre, the Garden of the Tuileries, the “place de la Concorde” and the Obelisk of Louxor, the Champs-Elysées, the Arc of Triomphe and the business center of “la Défense” with its “Grande Arche” 7:30 AM – Hayley, who lives in Vancouver, began her stay in Paris and in Europe by a sports discovery of the city thanks to a 10 miles route in the company of Paris Running Tour. Hayley is journalist for Lainey Gossip and also a personal trainer. We further recommend her article Travelling and weight management. We fully agree her first advice for travelling 😉 => see the web link that comes with it… Thank you Hayley 🙂 Discover with us some beautiful places of Paris, to run (or not) : The “Cours de la Reine” : This beautiful alley created by Marie de Medici in 1618 is a nice place to run, see this beautiful lawn surrounded with majestic trees and which welcomes a number of statues. At Paris Running Tour, we call this perspective “The Alley of the Statues”. On the photo below, we can see successively the monument to the Russian Expeditionary force having fought in France during the World War I, the statue of General Lafayette (do you remember the small little tortoise ?), the statue of the Liberator Simon Bolivar then the one of the King of the Belgians, Albert the 1st. Hayley – “Cours de la Reine” “Place du Palais Royal” : Having passed by the garden of the Tuileries (see the photo at the beginning of this article), having crossed the Louvre by the passage which leads of the Pyramid to the Street of Rivoli, you discover the beautiful square of the Palais Royal. From there, you can join the gardens of the Palais Royal, the beautiful garden protected by the galleries of the Palais Royal. Hayley – “Place du Palais Royal” The “new banks of the river Seine” : We could not resist to the envy to make a small sprint on the 100 meters running track of the new banks of the Seine, small 2 km paradise in the center of Paris for the runners. Not so easy to accelerate after about 6 miles… On our road, we were also able to admire: The “Hôtel de Ville de Paris” (Paris City Hall), which, this day, welcomed the President of the Federal Republic of Germany (German flags joined to the French flags): Hayley – “Hôtel de Ville de Paris” The magnificent front door of the “Petit Palais”: Hayley – Le Petit Palais as well as one of the Parisian Statues of Liberty (discover them here) : Hayley – Statue of Liberty (“Arts et Métiers”) Merci Hayley ! Paris Marathon 2012, Kilometer 1, with Sarah

Sarah – Place du Canada 6:56 AM – Sarah from Canada, who works and lives with her family in the Bahamas, has already run several marathons. We went to visit Paris by running on a circuit of a dozen kilometers. Several times, our road crossed the path of the very next marathon of Paris (April 15th), which allowed us to share our experiences of marathon runners. Sarah evoked the magnificent marathon of Nassau, Bahamas, along the sea. Going up to the Chaillot hill, we crossed the Palais de Tokyo, contemporary art museum. Above the entrance is a huge countdown. But what does it count? The artist, Gianni Motti, the creator of this digital clock, appropriates one of the biggest future natural disasters: his “Big Crunch Clock” is the detonator activated “to provoke” the explosion of the sun (planned in 5 billion years by the scientists). This clock deducts the time by tenth of seconds to trigger the 5 billion years “scheduled to trigger the explosion.” Entrance of the “Palais de Tokyo” – Contemporary Art Museum – “Big Crunch Clock” Gianni Motti But let us return to the marathon. By way of the Champs Elysées, we noticed that the kilometric marks on the ground were already there, for example, the kilometer 1 at the bottom of the magnificent avenue, little before reaching the place de la Concorde: Paris Marathon 2012- Kilometer 1 – Champs-Elysées The number which provokes so many feelings to the marathon runners is doubtless “42”. The kilometer 42 is also already indicated, as well as the arrival, a little less than 200 meters farther, in front of the Arc de Triomphe: Paris Marathon 2012 – Kilometer 42 – Avenue Foch (and Mile 26 a little before) Miles are indicated on the route as well such as the mile “26” which is for our English-speaking marathonian friends the “mythical” number (Marathon = 42.195 km or 26 miles and 386 yards). Discover the marathon route here. We wish you a beautiful Paris Marathon! Merci Sarah ! The route of the tour :
From the top of Montmartre to the Tuileries with Ai

Ai – Palais de l’Elysée (Elysee Palace) 7:02 AM – On early Thursday morning, with Ai, who lives in Seattle (USA), we decided to begin our tour with a sports ascent towards the “butte Montmartre”. Ai generally runs on hilly roads in the region of Seattle. In Paris, the running routes are relatively flat, except for some rare exceptions, as Montmartre. The continuation was easier. At first, the descent led us towards the Elysée Palace, the French Republic president’s residence, then, on the way back, we admired some of the numerous sculptures which decorate Paris, among which the General Lafayette’s statue and his small curiosity, a tortoise who accompanies the steps of his horse… General Lafayette and the little tortoise (click on the image to enlarge it) By continuing our road, we crossed the garden of the Tuileries which abounds in works of art. New creations appear there from time to time, on the occasion of exhibitions temporary like the FIAC which is held from 20th till 23th October in various places of Paris. We were entitled to some previews, of which “Earthlings” of the artist Adrian Villar Rojas, “fallen column” which provokes a funny effect when we meet it for the first time. Earthlings – Adrian Villar Rojas (click on the image to enlarge it) It does not however seem to disturb the sons of Caïn, Paul Landowski’s work, which stands a little farther. The sons of Cain – Paul Landowski (click on the image to enlarge it) Merci Ai ! The route of the tour :
