Paris Marathon 2021

No Paris Marathon in 2020 because of the health crisis… what a pleasure to see it again in autumn 2021! In October, the weather should not be too hot, which can happen in April, the month when the Paris Marathon is usually run (by the way, registrations for the April 2022 Paris Marathon are now open!) It remains the marathon of the year! At least for me, a passionate Parisian 😉. This will be my 24th Paris Marathon, run continuously since 1996. We will find the route of the 2019 Paris Marathon which had been given a change making it even more beautiful, Place Vendôme and Opéra Garnier! Small funny difference, the end of the course before the finish goes through the Porte Dauphine as usual, but bypassing it on the left ☺ Old route, new route, either way, it will be a magnificent route, if only for the start at the Champs Elysées which is magical. A splendid stroll guaranteed. Previous Editions: 2019 edition – 2018 edition – 1999 edition – 1997 edition – 1996 edition And why not combine this competition with a sightrunning tour of the city during your stay in Paris by running with real Parisian runner guides (warming up some day before the competition or recovering some day after)? The 20K of Paris 2021

Another great race is back, the classic “20 km de Paris”! We are happy to welcome back this great race with its beautiful animations, and of course, a sensational course, departure and arrival at the Eiffel Tower, circuit avenue Foch, Bois de Boulogne and both sides of the Seine… Be careful, if you do the Paris Marathon, it takes place one week later. With the many postponements due to the health crisis, many spring races are added to those of the autumn. With one week to go, if your goal is the marathon, use the Paris 20km as a quiet training session, resist the temptation to perform during this 20km, it can compromise your goal at the marathon… we all know that, but on race day, it’s hard to reason… so be careful here! 😉 Come and participate or cheer! To support, place yourself at the entrances or exits of the tunnels, it is an interesting sight or take advantage of the bridges to see your loved ones as they pass on the right bank and then on the left bank (route in link). 10 km Adidas Paris 2021

2019 Adidas 10K finish arch, visible from quite a distance, good motivation to speed up! Again a beautiful race, as many postponed to the fall (usually run in June), one of the prestigious Parisian 10 Km with a route very similar to the previous edition of 2019, but what a route! Start at Place de la Concorde and finish… in front of the Hôtel des Invalides! Opéra Garnier, Carrousel du Louvre, Grand and Petit Palais and the Eiffel Tower are part of the visit and will be excellent motivations to give the best of one’s abilities. On September 26, it will be the third edition of the 10 km Adidas Paris (formerly the 10 km de l’Equipe). This race has the particularity to gather a large number of runners, exceptional number for a 10 km (more than 18 000 arrivals in 2019!) Wave starts allow a fluid race at all levels. La Parisienne 2021

The first all-women’s race in France: La Parisienne. With a rather expensive fee for a small distance, 7 km, La Parisienne remains a great party even without the numerous animations that usually take place and that we will not see this year because of the health crisis… Disguises are welcome, even without a festival this year or a particular theme (in 2019, it was the Far West). Run in a good mood with a course always superb, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Concorde… magnificent! Please note, at the time of writing, the start time is not yet known (the “9:30am” indicated in this article is purely indicative). Paris Half-Marathon 2021

Finally, we will be back to our big races, which have been postponed until now because of the COVID pandemic. The first of these major Parisian races is the Paris Half Marathon. So these are new conditions that we are encountering. Usually, before the health crisis, the race took place at the beginning of March, at the end of winter, where sometimes we had snow at the start… This time, it is the end of summer, when the heat may still be present… we shall see. The course is also different, starting at Pont de Sully and boulevard Henri IV and finishing at Place de la Bastille, with still a good portion in the Bois de Vincennes. Of course, still in the particular circumstances of the pandemic, you will need a valid COVID certificate to participate in the event. So, first half-marathon, chase for the distance record, preparation for the Paris Marathon which takes place 6 weeks later (following the various postponements), pleasant moment of running with friends, whatever, GOOD HALF!
