Nice races in 2018…
The corrida of the 15th arrondissement 2018

We no longer present the corrida*1 of the 15th*2 organized until 2016 with the support of the friendly 15th Athletic Club Paris. In 2017, the race was placed under the sponsorship of Adidas. The route consists of two loops in the streets of the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The race is quite rolling, crossing twice the beautiful André Citroën Park and goes along the Seine. The route is flat, however, it is necessary to plan twice the small climb to leave the banks: Of course, it’s a race you shouldn’t miss when you live in the 15th arrondissement! Good memory of racing with our friend Christophe P.: *1 Corrida: many competitions have taken the name of “corrida”, of course they are no bulls here (fortunately, let’s them leave in peace!) but running, the word corrida originally means “running” in Spanish and Portuguese. A very old “corrida” takes place in Brazil every year, on the evening of December 31st, in Sao Paulo, the Corrida of new year’s eve: the “Corrida Internacional de São Silvestre” in Portuguese. *2 The corrida of the 15th resists to the disappearance of all the friendly little local Parisian races, all those district (arrondissement) races whose organization is becoming more and more difficult to prepare (find >here< the reminder of all the local races we used to have). 2017 and 2018 have seen the loss of Paris Centre (for the 1st and 2nd arrondissements), the strides of the 8th, the 10 km of the 9th, the 10 km of the 19th !
Run for fun (Courir pour le Plaisir) 2018

This is the 13th edition of Run for Fun. As for the Course du Dodo or the Trail Le Pouce, this race is organized by COURIR POUR LE PLAISIR and the nice Benoît César. COURIR POUR LE PLAISIR supports the association SYNDROME DE LOWE, by donating a financial contribution for each registration. On the program, a 1.5 km children’s race and a beautiful 10 km in the “Bois de Vincennes”. Good atmosphere provided by Benoît César. Thank you Benoît!
La Piedthone 2018

This is the twelfth edition of La Piedthone. These races are organized to benefit the Telethon, which takes place on the weekend of December 7, 8 and 9, 2018. This event is managed by the AFM-Telethon, an association of parents and patients that is constantly fighting against rare and severely handicapping genetic diseases. Start at 10:30 am for 6 planned races: 10 km – individual, 10 km – duo relay, 10 km – 4-person relay, 6 km at free speed (walking or running), 4 km at free speed (walking or running), 2 km at free speed (walking or running). A secure route in the Salpêtrière Hospital.
Loops of the 17th arrondissement 2018

“Boucles du 17ème” = Loops of the 17th arrondissement As last year, the Loops of the 17th are driven by the sponsor Adidas. In the peloton, we will find a large number of Adidas runners participating in this race with the black AR T-Shirts (AR = Adidas Runner) but not only. It is a very competitive race that takes place in two loops in the streets of the 17th arrondissement of Paris. The light downhill end of the race allows beautiful sprints, whatever the level of the runners.
The “Bacchantes” Paris 2018

A not serious race for a serious cause, the fight against the prostate cancer. Everybody has to wear the mustache! A very nice running in the Wood of Boulogne.
“La course des lumières” Paris 2018

The “Course des Lumières (Paris)” is a charity race to support the Institut Curie and cancer research. This is its third edition with a 10 km on the banks of the Seine and a 4 km walk. A beautiful night route with a return trip to the City Hall, along the Seine, up to the Eiffel Tower, with the illuminations of the City of Light!
The Strides of Solidarity 2018

The 14th “Foulées de la Solidarité” Lepic Abbeses are organised by “Montmartre à la Une ACP 18” and OMS 18. The 10 km is composed of 4 loops and the 5 km, of 2. The funds collected are totally donated for “AFM Teletho”n research. The race is homologated and registered on the calendar of the Paris Departmental Athletics Committee. At the foot of Montmartre, the race is not really flat with four times the climb of rue Lepic….
Endorun Paris 2018

On Sunday, November 18, 2018, hundreds of runners, including the singer Imany, will start the ENDOrun Paris, the first race dedicated to endometriosis, a poorly known disease that affects more than 3 million French people and 180 million women around the world. Involved for several years in raising awareness and various works to improve the management of this pathology, Imany and the ENDOmind association are now organizing the first edition of a running competition which will aim to raise funds for research projects on the disease. The ENDOrun Paris is a 10km race in the Bois de Vincennes (12th district of Paris) which will start at 10am from the Jacques Anquetil Velodrome. As running is booming, ENDOmind is counting on this opportunity to raise awareness among a wide audience during an event that is resolutely festive. In addition to the race itself, activities around the disease will take place in the velodrome. Open to runners from all walks of life, with or without endometriosis, this event will highlight the disease more clearly and will also provide an opportunity to bring together all the people concerned more directly: women, their families, their close and professional entourage. The organization of ENDOrun Paris arouses the enthusiasm of the patients that ENDOmind represents, as well as that of its first partners committed to its side: the “Mairie de Paris 12”, “Les Foulées du 12”, the Sports Federation of ASPTT, the association “Mon Endométriose Ma Souffrance Métropole”, GenSearch, Coloplast, Nordic Pharma…). Sport is often a significant element in the management of the illness in the daily lives of women with the disease, and the commitment and surpassing oneself necessary to participate in such an event reflect the values defended by the association.
Half-Marathon of Boulogne

The Boulogne half-marathon has now become one of the most important French half-marathons. By the way, why does it appear in this blog when Boulogne is not Paris and this blog is only dedicated to Parisian races? Well, part of his route passes through the Bois de Boulogne, which belongs to Paris! This half-marathon has been held every year since 1997. I remember that year, I finished 29th! Well, 29th out of 320, we were few in number, the groups of runners were more sparse at the time. By 2018, there will certainly be more than 7500 of us… A very competitive race with the presence of international runners.
